With a desire to create a very stately and timeless version of modern design, BLDG Workshop worked closely with the client to connect the home to the site.
Yakisugi, stone and natural light were the main design tools used to create a grounded yet airy feeling home that is careful not to obstruct views to the rear yard. Large shafts of light are brought into the home by south facing glazing at the front – this direct light finds its way through the house in order to allow the rear of the home to find a peaceful equilibrium with light and shade.
