A home in transition for a family in transition.

This home no longer met the needs of a growing family even though it possessed an indescribable and engaging quality in its existing state. Accordingly, the renovation was approached with a desire to amplify the light and intrinsic familiar feeling.

A more modern vocabulary was injected into the scheme with an open floor plan and extended glazing. The natural light afforded by the renovation allowed a greater sense of place within the home especially as it related to views of the large park in front.

Different levels and depths of texture were experimented with in order to create an aesthetic that presents itself more thoughtfully to the streetscape than a typical suburban home or than the existing home had prior.
