2018 / Port Credit, Ontario /

A new home in Mississauga’s waterfront community of Port Credit. The project focused on creating an open and airy floor plan aided by soaring ceilings and extensive glazing on the front and rear facades.

The design was meant to read as an interpretation of classic modernism with a subtle Art Deco aesthetic. Attention to scale and interior detailing became prominent tools in carrying out this objective, as did an acute focus on numerous exterior carpentry details.

Yakisugi (Shou Sugi Ban) is used prominently as on many of our projects, but in this case is contrasted against deep soffits of light pickled fir. On the interior, walnut panels and details contrast against oak throughout.
